Could it be that simple? While I was reading the talented Kim Hills blog, I came across this quote “You have not, because you ask not!”
And It just struck me, that there are many important things that I wish to have in my life, that I have never asked for.
For example, I quite recently decided that I do want to have a record deal, since this “do everything yourself” lifestyle is getting a bit too much to juggle, if you know what I mean
. But still I have never attempted to contact a record company! Now that’s odd isn’t it? And the same goes for help with PR, I have many friends in various positions in showbiz, like journalists in magazines, TV, events etc, but I have rarely if ever asked them for help with anything regarding my music!
This success blocking phenomena of mine is quite fascinating, do I truly believe that I don’t deserve help? That I don’t deserve success? Pondering this makes me realize that I must feel like this on some unconscious level, or else my reality would look different. Bruce Lipton’s research shows that our mind operates 5% consciously and 95% unconsciously. The big 95% is created while we are still toddlers absorbing everything. So basically I mostly react/act (if not present and focused) according to this autopilot pre- programmed mode that I developed watching the reality of my Mother, Father and surroundings as a child. Now, people that know me know that I believe that all conditions are reversible and can be improved. I have already changed a huge part of my unconscious beliefs into better ones by using affirmations, meditating and/or just being present while I’m speaking and observing my behavior.
I realize that I’m being presented with yet another opportunity to grow, evolve and improve myself. I am going to start asking for help, and working on establishing a little thing called “Self Love” you know that feeling I preach about in my music
. Well, I guess I want to practice what I preach even more. I’m so thankful for the internet and all the inspiring people that are here sharing their realities. It’s amazing that one little quote started this whole ripple effect inside of me. Going with the flow, not knowing where it will take me, but the journey is quite amazing.
Love and Light to all you beautiful people, I really do appreciate your support!
