Water Fast
Yesterday I did a water fast as part of the 21 day cleanse that I’m doing.
I just drank water and some hibiscus tea the whole day. It was hard at first but so worth it. Today when I woke up I felt like a new person. I could feel how my stomach was thanking me for the well deserved rest. I highly recommend anybody to do this, it’s one of the most refreshing things I have ever done in my life. The best way to go about fasting is to help the body ease in to the fast by following these simple steps.
1. The day before the water fast only drink smoothies to help the body adjust to the water fast. If you want some smoothie recipes you can find theme here. It’s good to do some light stretching or yoga to help drain the lymphs.
2. On the day of the water fast try to relax as much as possible. It’s important to drink a lot, so always have a big bottle of water by your side. If you crave something else remind yourself that it’s only one day of your life, but it can make a huge change in your health. If you really can’t stand it, have some hibiscus tea, it will sooth the hunger.
3. When you wake up the next day (feeling fabulous), have a rehydrating delicious fruit smoothie for breakfast, here is a great recipe. The best thing to do to help the body ease out from the fast is to only drink smoothies the whole day, but if you find it too hard eat a light salad and some other raw foods.
